Tony was, and still is, a great mentor. There wouldn’t be an Impact Plastics without Tony Garofalo! Tony is retired now in Allegan, Michigan but still helps us out from time to time. You may see him in Vegas at our Exhibit this year. Click here to read Tony's article about how Impact Plastics got it's start.
In 1999 and 2000 I remember running around in my Acura Integra (Laura’s car,
mine could not fit lids) filled with 36x58 lids and coming home when the car was empty, only to reload and do it again the following week. Nobody knew who we were, but as luck would have it, some people listened. Mr. Rick Kemper of Rumpke was kind enough to listen to my pitch and put our lids through the ringer. He said, “Scott I’ll test those out,” and once Rick was convinced, other people fell in line. You really need folks like Rick to give you a chance when you are starting a new business.
Carmen Castro came on board in 2002 and really took our customer service to another level. Everybody remembers Carm! She really put us on the map. Carm is thinking of moving to Vegas now and is enjoying her retirement.
Our current group of Laura, Gary, Amanda, Debra, Scott M., Vonn, Chad, Alvin, Roland, Casey and Diane really take the whole company to another level. I am becoming a smaller part of the company everyday as these folks excel!
Finally, I have to thank Laura, who listens to my problems and settles me down when things don’t go my way. She kept food on the table for many of the early years by working overtime at her job. She was making money, and I was spending it. Truly, Impact Plastics could not have accomplished what we are today without her, and she is an integral part of the business.
Most importantly, Thank You to all our customers who truly are the reason why we are here!
Scott
